There are several ways to add a field in the web dashboard.
- Manually draw each field (only recommended if you have a few fields or the other options below are not available to you).
- Click on the "Fields" menu in the top toolbar of your account
- Click on "Create new field"
- Enter a name for your field and then click on "Click on map to draw field polygon"
- Manually draw your field boundaries by selecting the corners of your field on the map
- Enter a planting crop for your field
- Click on "Save"
- Importing shapefiles (for instructions with photos: http://bit.ly/farmdogshapefiles)
- On your web dashboard, select "Upload Shape File" from below your name.
- You can 'drag and drop' your shape file into the upload box or you can select your files from your computer.
- If your shapefiles contain field names, farm names, and/or client names, Farm Dog will help you automatically select these. Follow the prompts to select your Field Name, Farm Name, and Client Name.
- The fields will automatically import into your Farm Dog account
- Connecting your John Deere Operations Center account to Farm Dog (for instructions with photos: http://bit.ly/farmdogjohndeereopscenter)
- On your web dashboard, select "Import John Deere" from below your name.
- A new window will open from the myjohndeere.com website
- Enter your John Deere username and password in the new window and click "Sign in."
- The fields in your John Deere account, including client name and crop type, will import automatically into your Farm Dog account
